Kathy De Angelis
Kathy De Angelis, a former player and current coach for the United States National Field Hockey program, is in her 10th year as head field hockey coach at Hofstra University. In her nine seasons at Hofstra, De Angelis has guided the Pride to a 91-88 record and has seen her team post six straight winning seasons (2001 through 2006) for the first time at the Division I level and just the second time since 1947 to 1952. Hofstra's record over the last six seasons is 73-47. Active in the administration end of the sport, De Angelis has been a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Mid-East Region ranking committee.

April CornellApril Cornell
April Cornell, a 2005 graduate of the University of Connecticut, is in her second season as a coach with the Hofstra University Field Hockey program. Cornell joined the Pride in 2006 after spending the previous season as an assistant at the University of New Hampshire.

While at New Hampshire, Cornell coached two NFHCA All-Region selections and three All-America East selections as the Wildcats posted a 7-12 record and a fourth place finish in the America East standings.

A four-year letterwinner at Connecticut, Cornell served as a co-captain during her senior season in 2004. As a back, she led the defensive unit to a No. 3 national ranking in 2003 and a No. 1 ranking in 2004. Connecticut made four NCAA and Big East Tournament appearances, won three Big East regular season titles and two conference tournaments during her time in Storrs. Cornell earned NFHCA second team All-Mid-East Region and second team All-Big East accolades in 2004.

Cornell, who serves as a head coach for the Elite United States Futures National Program, also played for the New England Region team at the USA Field Hockey Elite Performance Training Center in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 she was a member of the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania team that won the 2007 US Field Hockey National Championship.

Cornell, who graduated from Connecticut with a degree in psychology, resides in Mineola, New York

Ellie Karvoski
Hendrix College
Ellie Karvoski is in her first year at Hendrix College. Karvoski is the inaugural head coach of the Warrors’ field hockey program.


The Norwalk, Conn. native was named All-American and Academic All-American at Northwestern University in 1996. She was a three time All-Big Ten performer (1994, 1995, 1996), and was inducted into the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. She was a member of the United States National Field Hockey squad in 1997 and 1998 and also competed as a member of the United States National Under 23 Field Hockey team in 1998. She currently is a member of the United States National Rugby Team and has competed on the national level for the past five years. She was also a member of the 2002 and 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cup teams.

Karvoski served as an interim assistant field hockey coach in 1998 at Northwestern and then went to Hofstra University, where she served as Assistant Field Hockey Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for three years. Additionally she has served as the Head Coach of the United States Field Hockey New York and New Jersey Futures Program. Most recently she worked as a Manager and Field Business Information/Sales Analyst for Reliant Pharmaceuticals.

Karvoski earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Northwestern and also a Certificate in Business Computer Information Systems from Hofstra. Karvoski resides in Little Rock.
